Gunpowder Falls begins in Manheim Township about a mile north of the Maryland line and flows south-east through Maryland until it flows into the Gunpowder River near Baltimore where it becomes part of the Chesapeake Bay. Little Falls is a tributary of Gunpowder Falls.
