Aka Bear’s / Cline’s Mill

The first mill on this site was built in 1787 by Martin Shetter. Jacob S. Bear built the current structure in 1849. Andrew Cline became the owner in 1878 followed by his son James, who replaced the original grind stones with roller mills. Norman Bair operated the mill between 1926 and 1945 when Harry Hykes took over operations. Milling operations ended in 1956. The mill served as a Halloween attraction for a few years but today is abandoned and slowly deteriorating.
