Jacob Bare’s Mill

Aka Prowells Mill / Red Mill Inn

Jacob Bare built this mill on the Fishing Creek in 1835. John Prowell bought the property in 1866 after which three generations of Prowell’s owned the mill until it closed in 1821. Repurposed as the “Red Mill Inn”, the mill was well known as a place for dining and dancing during the 1930s. The Blue Sky Tavern operates in the old mill today.
