Leppo’s Mill

Aka Sherretz Mill

Arnold Sherretz built this mill sometime between 1772 and 1780 when he sold it to his three sons. The sons divided up the land and Ludwick Sherretz received the two tracts that included the mill. The mill remained in the Sherretz family for two more generations until 1849 when they sold it to John Lohr.

John Leppo acquired the mill in 1911. From that time on, the mill and the surrounding area became known as “Leppo’s Mill”. When milling operations ended is unknown, but John Leppo died in 1940, and his widow sold the property the following year.
