Jacob Sheffer built the first mill at this location sometime around 1830. Joshua Kent built the current structure in 1860. The mill entered the Brodbeck family in 1885 when Catherine and Jeriel Brodbeck acquired the property. Their son, Theodore operated the mill for many years. In 1819, Catherine and Jeriel transferred ownership of the property to Theodore. He ran the mill for another five years until he retired due to health issues. Operations ended in 1920. Today it serves as a private residence.
